AI-based Dictation: Speech to Text, Mobile-Ready, with Automatic Language Detection
In daily work, it often happens that something needs to be recorded quickly: a note related to a case, a task, details of a meeting or phone conversation, or even a calendar entry.
These are often not long texts, yet they are important. Later, they reveal what happened in the case, what tasks arose, what to pay attention to in the next step, or what information needs to be retrieved before a subsequent discussion.
The new AI-based dictation feature of Flowyer helps to avoid typing everything out each time. Where the feature is available, a small microphone icon appears in the corner of the text field. By clicking or tapping on it, the text to be recorded can be simply dictated, which is then directly entered into the respective field.
Less Typing, Faster Recording
In the management system, it is often not large texts that need to be recorded, but short, yet important information. A note for the case. A task. A calendar entry. Details of a phone conversation. A note related to an invoice.
These may seem like minor details individually, but they are crucial for daily operations. If they are accurately entered into the system, it is easier to retrieve later what happened, who is responsible for what, and what background is needed for further work.
Dictation provides tangible assistance in this. If the text is already in mind, it does not necessarily have to be typed out manually. It is enough to say it, and Flowyer places the dictated text directly into the appropriate field.
How Does Flowyer AI-based Dictation Work?
The feature is directly accessible in Flowyer text fields. Where it is usable, a small microphone icon appears in the corner of the field.
On a desktop, the operation is push-to-talk: the microphone button is held down to dictate, and when the button is released, dictation ends, and the text is entered into the field.
On mobile, usage is even simpler: one tap starts dictation, another tap stops it. This can be especially useful when a note, message, or calendar information needs to be quickly recorded without sitting in front of a computer.
Not a Separate Application, but Part of Flowyer
One of the key advantages of the feature is that there is no need to open a separate dictation application and then copy the text from there. Dictation occurs where the text needs to appear anyway.
In practice, this means that the recorded text is immediately linked to the appropriate case, task, calendar entry, comment, or other Flowyer field.
Thus, it does not create a separate note that needs to be transferred into the system later, but the information goes directly to its place.
Speech Recognition Provided by OpenAI
The conversion of speech to text is provided by OpenAI. The dictated text returns to Flowyer in a readable format, with punctuation and capitalization.
This is important because the goal is not to create a long, unstructured transcript. Dictation has real practical value when the result appears immediately in a usable, transparent, and readable form.
The purpose of the feature is not to rewrite or rephrase your message. The goal is for what you say to be entered accurately and in a readable form into the selected field.
Automatic Language Detection
Flowyer's AI-based dictation automatically detects the language of speech. This means that there is no need to search for a separate language setting for Hungarian, English, German, or other language texts.
You can simply dictate in the language you wish to record the text.
This can be particularly useful in multilingual cases, communication with foreign clients, or in office operations where foreign language text regularly occurs alongside Hungarian.
Where Can Dictation Be Used?
Dictation is available on several important Flowyer interfaces, including:
✓ tasks
✓ case descriptions
✓ comments and replies
✓ client portal messages
✓ calendar entries
✓ meeting data
✓ invoice notes
✓ knowledge base articles
The aim is for dictation not to appear as a separate function, but to become a natural part of daily workflows. It should be accessible where the text needs to be recorded anyway.
Conveniently Usable on Mobile
Many important pieces of information do not arise when comfortably sitting in front of a computer. After a phone call, following a meeting, or on the go, it may be necessary to quickly record something.
On mobile, dictation can be started and stopped with a simple tap. This way, there is no need to type longer texts on a small screen, and recording does not have to be postponed.
This can be especially useful for short notes, client portal messages, calendar entries, or tasks.
No Separate Subscription or Technical Setup
Flowyer's AI-based dictation is a centrally provided service. No own OpenAI API key, separate subscription, or technical setup is required for its use.
Upon first use, only the browser's microphone access needs to be allowed. Thereafter, the feature can be used directly in supported text fields.
Data Security
The recorded audio is used solely for the recognition of the dictated text, temporarily. The audio is not stored permanently by the system and is deleted at the end of the process.
The transcription occurs through an encrypted channel, and the finished text is placed into the Flowyer field where you are working.
Thus, dictation does not appear as a separate external workflow but integrates into Flowyer's secure management environment.
Summary
The Flowyer AI-based dictation feature assists in everyday situations where text needs to be recorded quickly, accurately, and in the right place.
There is no need to dictate into a separate application and then copy it over. There is no need to type longer texts on mobile. There is no need to manually type out every short note, task, or client message.
The goal: less typing, faster recording, and accurately dictated text – directly in Flowyer.
